New 45U TigerShark^TM2 Cabinet

SharkRack now has a 45U version of the TigerShark2. The new cabinet is the same as the 42U version except that it is 3 rack units taller. So, the new 45U retains the innovative use of space and energy friendly design features that help save energy, add server capacity, and extend the life of the data center.

As customers seek more space, they still demand efficient cooling and they get both with the new 45U T2 cabinet. It has great airflow, built-in cable management and six extra rack units of space in the sides of the cabinet. These smart features help data center professionals better address their increasingly acute availability, heat, and space challenges.

The T2 cabinet, both 42U and 45U, optimizes on three energy smart design objectives:

1. Prevents Cold Air Bypass

The T2 door's airflow-friendly design assures cold air goes into the cabinet rather than around it as bypass air. First, the SharkFinTM perforation pattern lets air pass easily into the front of the cabinet and to the IT equipment intakes. Second, the perforation pattern extends as wide and as tall as possible to assure the maximum open area in square inches.

2. Prevents Hot Air Recirculation

The T2 design eliminates recirculation of hot exhaust air between the cabinet side panels and equipment mounting rails. Without this "rails flush" feature the gap along the sides can equate to 2U or more of open space. That amount of open space will cause 19% or more of the server intake air to be recirculated air. Combining the T2 with tight sealing blanking panels, like PlenaForm or HotLok, creates a solid wall between hot and cold air. These smart features eliminate the heat risks associated with recirculation.

3. Keeps Exhaust Areas Clear

Inside the T2, the integrated cable management and six (6) zero-U side spaces are innovative features that help keep exhaust areas clear. For example, mounting horizontal power strips in the T2 special side spaces lessens blockage in the rear of the cabinet. The T2's smart cable management features allow clean, tight routing of cables that also keep exhaust areas clear.
